MATATIELE IGR FORUM SITS TO EXPEDITE SERVICE DELIVERY AND FIND JOINT SOLUTIONS
The Matatiele Local Municipality Intergovernmental Relations (IGR) Forum is currently underway at the municipal Conference Rooms 1 & 2, bringing together government departments, public entities and relevant private-sector stakeholders.
The forum serves as a service delivery coordination and problem-solving platform, aimed at expediting service delivery by identifying challenges affecting communities and stakeholders, finding joint solutions and coordinating interventions across sectors.
Chairing the session, Mayor Stuurman emphasised the importance of integrated planning, collaboration and collective accountability in responding to community needs.
Among the key matters receiving attention is the challenge of borrow pits and access to construction material, which continues to affect the pace of completion of some infrastructure projects in Matatiele. The forum is exploring coordinated and sustainable interventions to address the challenge and accelerate project delivery.
Through the IGR Forum, the municipality continues to strengthen partnerships across government, public entities and the private sector to ensure that service delivery challenges are matched with joint solutions, clear interventions and coordinated action.
