Welcome once again to the Matatiele Local Municipality view point. It is our responsibility to ensure that our community is well informed of recent accomplishments at their respective areas.

The Matatiele Local Municipality believes in providing people with information which is accessible to them; and which they can use to improve their lives, based on their needs, encouraging people to participate actively in the democratic processes. Keeping people continuously informed of policies and programmes that affect them and progress in implementing them.

As part of bringing government services closer to the people, the department of Social Development and Special Programmes in collaboration with the Matatiele Local Municipality, SASSA and all government departments operating within the Matatiele jurisdiction will on the 11th of March 2016 embark on a campaign called Integrated Community Registration Outreach Programme (ICROP).

The ICROP is aimed at promoting direct interaction with members of the public, assisting those who can’t access social grants, government information dissemination.

The Mayor, Cllr Momelezi Mbedla accompanied by his Executive Committee and Senior Management from all government departments are expected to handover two hundred food parcels funded by SASSA to the less privileged households.
