Promoting public participation and public education

The Municipality through the Corporate Services Department conducted engagement with the community of ward 26 in Cedarville. The engagement formed part of enhancing public participation by giving the community of ward 26 the opportunity to interact directly with their government leaders.

Cllr Nomasomi Mshuqwana, Portfolio Head for Corporate Services led the delegation that visited Cedarville wherein more than 200 Identity Documents (IDs) were distributed to beneficiaries by the Department of Home Affairs. Furthermore, the delegation introduced a solar panel system that is able to cater for refrigerator, connects television and electrical stove.

Ward 26 councillor, Cllr. Sonwabile Mavuka tabled status quo report of the ward since 2011 to date with the purpose to keep the community informed about what government has done for the people of ward 26 and challenges encountered along the way.
